Compared with the mixing and clarifying tank with the same production capacity in the case of input energy, the volume of the centrifugal extractor can be reduced by one hundred times, so as to reflect the efficiency of the small rate of extraction, but compared with the residence time of the two phases in the equipment, it can be seen that under the same processing capacity, the volume of the centrifugal extractor should be reduced by at least one hundred times compared with the mixing and clarifying tank.

Due to the short residence time of the two phases, the centrifugal extractor is particularly suitable for extraction systems requiring short phase contact times. For example, in the process of the production of some antibiotics, in order to maintain the biological activity of the product, a very short extraction contact time is required, and the earliest heart extractor was developed according to the requirements of the pharmaceutical industry.
